# Assistant pictures

> Choose a mascot from the gallery or upload your own image.

Click the picture in the assistant header and choose **Use avatar** to open the gallery. Browse portraits, outfits, scenes, country flags, traditional dress and Product Hunt editions. Search by name or country, choose a light or dark background, then select **Use picture**.

Choose **Custom avatar** from the picture menu to upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP file up to 10 MB; it is compressed before upload. Choose **Remove avatar** in the same menu to return to the default orb. Closing the gallery without applying keeps your saved picture. You can replace a gallery picture with an upload, or the other way around.

Pictures appear wherever the assistant is shown, including lists, pickers and test conversations. New widgets can use the assistant picture as their initial logo; existing widget logos remain independent. This static profile picture is separate from a speaking video avatar. The Famulor gallery is available in direct Famulor workspaces; whitelabel customer workspaces use their own uploads.

## Automation

List available pictures, then set one by its returned ID. REST uploads accept PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 1 MB, or a public image URL. To remove a picture, use the avatar DELETE endpoint, the `delete_assistant_avatar` MCP tool or `famulor delete-assistant-avatar <id>`.

| REST | MCP | CLI |
| - | - | - |
| `GET /api/v1/assistants/avatar-gallery` | `list_assistant_avatar_gallery` | `famulor list-assistant-avatar-gallery` |
| `POST /api/v1/assistants/{id}/avatar` | `upload_assistant_avatar` | `famulor set-assistant-avatar <id>` |
| `DELETE /api/v1/assistants/{id}/avatar` | `delete_assistant_avatar` | `famulor delete-assistant-avatar <id>` |

```bash theme={null}
famulor list-assistant-avatar-gallery
famulor set-assistant-avatar <id> --gallery-id profile-headset --appearance light
famulor set-assistant-avatar <id> --file ./portrait.png
```
