# LINE

> Answer a LINE Official Account with the Messaging API

LINE lets the assistant answer people who message your Official Account. A customer adds the account as a friend, sends a message, and the reply comes back in that LINE chat.

## When to use it

Use it when your customers already reach you on LINE. One Famulor connection is one Official Account and one assistant.

## What the assistant hears

The assistant hears messages sent to the Official Account after the webhook is verified and **Use webhook** is on. Add the account as a friend from its QR code before you test.

## Where the keys come from

The linked provider guide shows the screens for these clicks. Follow the clicks below together with those pictures.

The channel secret and the long-lived channel access token exist in the LINE console before you have the Famulor URL. Sign in at [LINE Developers](https://developers.line.biz/console/). The click path, with the console screens, is in [Get started with the Messaging API](https://developers.line.biz/en/docs/messaging-api/getting-started/) and [Build a bot](https://developers.line.biz/en/docs/messaging-api/building-bot/). The webhook address must be HTTPS and use a public certificate.

## Create it at the provider

1. Sign in at [developers.line.biz/console](https://developers.line.biz/console/).
2. Create a provider, then a **Messaging API** channel.
3. On **Basic settings**, copy the **Channel secret**.
4. On the **Messaging API** tab, issue a long-lived **Channel access token** and copy it. A short-lived token expires and the assistant stops replying.

## Connect it in Famulor

Your plan includes this channel. Open **Settings → Channels**, choose the card, name the connection, pick an assistant and save. The shared conversation settings — response delay (default 5 seconds) and inactivity timeout (default 30 minutes) — are described on the [messaging channels](https://docs.famulor.io/channels/messaging.md) page.

On the **LINE** card paste **Channel access token** and **Channel secret**. **Bot display name** is optional.

After saving, open the connection menu and choose **Copy webhook URL**. Paste that exact address into the provider. A verified custom domain is already part of the address Famulor shows.

## Point the provider at Famulor

1. Copy the Famulor webhook URL.
2. On the channel’s **Messaging API** tab, paste that URL into **Webhook URL** and choose **Verify**.
3. Turn on **Use webhook**.
4. Open the Official Account QR code, add it as a friend, and send a message. The chat appears in History.

## History

Open [History](https://docs.famulor.io/monitoring/history.md) and filter by **LINE**. The thread, the assistant reply and any analysis appear there. You can pause the assistant and answer manually.

## API, MCP and command line

The same connection can be created with the public API, the MCP tool `create_messaging_connector`, or the command line. Replace the placeholders with your own values.

```bash theme={null}
famulor create-messaging-connector --platform line --name "Support" \
  --assistant-id ASSISTANT_UUID --channel-access-token ACCESS_TOKEN --channel-secret CHANNEL_SECRET
```
